Our new "Lunch with a Professor" Series is a chance for all students to get to know our professors particularly from the EPD concentration! Learn about their background and career and ask them any questions you have! 

Maxine Weisgrau's teaching areas at SIPA include gender, development, and political participation. She co-teaches a course Gender, Politics and Development: Theory, Policy and Practice in the spring semester. She has conducted fieldwork research in Rajasthan, India since the late 1980s, studying nongovernmental organizations and rural development programs in villages in and around the Udaipur District. In addition to teaching at SIPA, she also teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses at Barnard, NYU and The New School focusing on gender, development, reproduction, tourism, and cultural anthropology. Professor Weisgrau received her PhD in anthropology from Columbia University in 1993.
