The student teams in SIPA’s Workshop in Development Practice (the EPD Workshop) have been working this year on cutting-edge projects with twelve clients in over ten countries. This year's projects support agricultural technology and food security, inclusive energy finance, impact bonds and impact investing, digital governance and public sector innovation, education models and policies, gender training and women’s empowerment, youth engagement, human rights education, and community development. The teams will present highlights of their work in a video conference hosted on April 14-15 by SIPA’s Economic and Political Development Concentration. Workshop clients, faculty advisors, members of the Columbia/SIPA community, SIPA alumni and the general public are warmly invited and encouraged to join any sessions of interest.
This year's workshop clients include: Booz Allen Hamilton, Brookings Institution (two projects), Development Alternatives Inc., Inter-American Development Bank, Marketshare Associates, Middle East Children’s Institute (Palestine), United Nations Capital Development Fund (Senegal), United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Children’s Fund (two projects in India and Sub-Saharan Africa), United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, WEEMA International (Ethiopia) and the World Food Programme Centre of Excellence against Hunger and Malnutrition (Ivory Coast).
