EE Summer Internship Panel

Please join us for EE's annual Summer Internship Panel. We're bringing 5 second-year EErs that worked in a variety of positions across the energy and environment sector. They will be providing important insights into the internship search process and how their work went throughout the summer (particularly in light of COVID19).

Bios of the panelists are included below:

Sarah Kay - EDF Climate Corps Fellow with Houston METRO

Sarah Kay is a second-year MPA student concentrating in EE with a focus on transportation policy. This past summer, Sarah was an EDF Climate Corps Fellow with Houston METRO working on a decarbonization strategy for their diesel bus fleet. Prior to SIPA, Sarah managed Energy Foundation's fossil energy and transportation policy strategies and grant portfolios. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from UCLA in Political Science with a Minor in Geography and Environmental Studies.

Faiza Haq - REBA

Faiza is a second-year MPA student at Columbia SIPA with a concentration in Energy and Environment and a specialization in Management. This past summer, she was an intern at the Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance (REBA), working on their Supply Chain and International Collaboration team. She is currently working part-time as a Policy and Communications Specialist with DG+ Design, a clean energy marketing startup. Faiza aspires for a career in the corporate sustainability and energy policy sector.

Sam Sloman (Morgan Stanley)

Sam is an MPA candidate at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), majoring in energy, environment, and sustainability.

Sam joined Morgan Stanley this summer working for the Global Sustainable Finance team, where he helped develop strategic thought leadership materials for Morgan Stanley's Institute for Sustainable Investing. Sam was also involved with several projects pertaining to Morgan Stanley's Plastic Waste Resolution, a company-wide initiative that aims to prevent, reduce, and remove 50 million metric tons of plastic waste from the environment. Sam previously worked for with the Swire Group where he was a member of John Swire & Son's General Management program that develops future business leaders in Asia-Pacific. During this period, Sam worked in a number of commercial, supply chain, and sustainability roles for the Swire Group's Coca-Cola franchise in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United States.

Francisco Galtieri - SE4All

Francisco Galtieri is an MPA Candidate 2021, concentrating in Energy & Environment. This summer he interned at Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), the UN initiative to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal 7. Francisco worked in the Integrated Energy Planning department, striving to identify ten 'priority' countries to equip them with the optimal pathway for achieving universal electricity and/or clean cooking access. Previously, he was Senior Manager at the World Energy Council, concentrating in energy innovation and clean energy start-ups. He has an engineering background and is co-founder of a sustainable habits NGO based in Argentina.

Fiona Wissel

Fiona Wissell is a second-year EE candidate at SIPA. Over the summer, Fiona worked with NYSERDA as an Offshore Wind Procurement Intern. Before coming to SIPA she worked as a Energy Markets Consultant at ICF.
