In the contemporary global workplace, organizations are comprised of people from diverse backgrounds. People are shaped by their upbringing, education, professional experience, and innate personality traits. In addition, the workplace brings together people with different responsibilities, with different (sometimes competing) priorities, and with varying abilities in communicating and relating with others.

This workshop will share actionable steps you can take to build mutually supportive relationships and communicate clearly and compellingly to find success in today’s complex, global workplace.

Goals and Objectives

Navigating the Global Workplace focuses on relationship-building and communication skills for the global workplace.

On the relationship front, participants will learn:

a four-step networking process to build genuine relationships;
the ten networking contacts every career-minded professional should cultivate.
the different types of support you should aim for in your career.

On the communications front, participants will learn:

a three-step process for navigating high-stakes conversations (e.g., pitching an idea, asking for a promotion);
strategies for communicating at diverse levels (e.g., with senior leaders, with your direct manager, with colleagues); and
how communication should be adjusted in volatile times and in hybrid/ remote work environments.

Instructor: Caroline Ceniza-Levine is an executive recruiter and career coach in media, tech, financial services, management consulting, pharma/ biotech, and nonprofit; Caroline is a Senior Contributor for Forbes Leadership.
