Maria Jos├® Pinto

María José is a 2nd year MIA student at SIPA, from Peru, studying Economic and Political Development and Gender & Public Policy. Before coming to SIPA, she was the Science and Innovation Coordinator in the Economic Development Department of the British Embassy in Lima, Peru, where, among other duties, worked on eliminating gender stereotypes in STEM high school studies. Prior to that, she worked for Peru's former Minister of Social Inclusion of Development in a financial inclusion initiative targeted to women from low income areas. During summer María José worked at the Inter-American Commission on Women at the Organization of American States, on women's leadership in the Americas. Currently, she is the President of the Women in Leadership (WIL) Board at SIPA, and works as a Program Assistant for the Gender & Public Policy Specialization.
