About the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC):
The mission of OPIC is to support American investment in less developed countries with debt finance and political risk insurance. With the creation of the DFC, we will have new products and authorities which will allow us to support projects that are highly developmental and of importance to the national security of the United States. In addition, with the launch of DFC, we will have the ability to provide support to projects that are of importance to the Embassies which the United States operates worldwide. This product is supported by the Development Credit Authority formerly a part of USAID.
Internship opportunities exist in our debt finance departments, political risk insurance group, project monitoring group, investment funds department, risk management, among others listed in WWW.USAJOBS.GOV
Additional Information:
- Students must bring two forms of ID - a government-issued photo ID and a school ID to be admitted to the building; if you are an international student please bring your passport.
- Dress in Business Formal.
- Students should arrive 15 minutes prior to the visit to allow time for security check-in.
OPIC is located at 1100 New York Avenue, NW which is near the Metro Center Metro station. It is the office building bounded by 11th and 12th Streets, NW and by H Street, and New York Avenue, NW. Once you arrive to the building, please check in with the Main Security desk which is located in the non-atrium side of the building (on the New York Avenue side). The Security guards will lead you to the elevators that go to OPIC’s reception. The Receptionist will let me know when you have arrived.
