Artificial intelligence is transforming how researchers and practitioners understand and respond to conflict. From scraping vast streams of digital information to detecting early warning signals and forecasting political violence, AI-driven methods are reshaping the landscape of conflict analysis and prevention. But these innovations also raise urgent questions about data integrity, bias, ethics, and accountability.
This panel brings together leading scholars and practitioners to explore how AI tools are being used to collect, analyze, and interpret conflict data—including in complex settings shaped by migration, displacement, and humanitarian crisis—and how these insights can inform real-world decision-making in peacebuilding and diplomacy. The discussion will examine methodological innovations, ethical and governance challenges, and the future of interdisciplinary collaboration at the nexus of technology, conflict, and peace.

Key Discussion Topics:
AI-driven methods for conflict data collection, analysis, and prediction
Ethical, methodological, and accountability challenges
Translating data insights into early warning, peacebuilding, and policy action
Building responsible and interdisciplinary approaches to AI in conflict settings
