Join us for a conversation with José Antonio Ocampo, Professor Emeritus at SIPA, co-author of the new book From Equity to Growth: Social Discontent in Developing Countries, and Fabio Sánchez Torres, Professor at Universidad de los Andes (Colombia). Drawing on case studies ranging from the Arab Spring to European welfare states, Prof. Ocampo and his co-authors challenge the idea that equity and growth are at odds, arguing that well-designed redistributive policies can strengthen institutions and drive sustainable development rather than undermine it. This talk will offer a timely lens on inequality, growth, and policy design in the developing world.
