Join us for a conversation with three Columbia's Obama Foundation Scholars whose work advances gender equality and women's participation in STEM education in rural Kazakhstan, sustainable urban agriculture in Uganda and entrepreneurship and professional development in the UK. 

Speakers: 
Amna Akhtar, Co-Founder and Creative Director, GirlDreamer (the UK)
Amna focuses on increasing access to opportunities for young women of color to support their professional and entrepreneurial development and increase representation for minority communities.

Dinara Auyelbekova, Founder and Director, Girls Power Fund (Kazakhstan)
Dinara designs and delivers innovative solutions to address gender inequality in rural Kazakhstan by promoting girls’ access to STEM education.

Lilian Nakigozi, Founder and CEO, Women Smiles Uganda
Lilian created innovative vertical farming technology to improve food security and empower women to develop sustainable agricultural solutions for urban spaces. 

About the Obama Foundation Scholars Program
The Obama Foundation Scholars Program at Columbia University brings together rising leaders from the United States and around the world who have demonstrated a commitment to finding solutions to challenges in their communities and countries. Scholars complete a fully-funded 9-month residency on campus at Columbia World Projects, deepening their knowledge and skills, and building new capacities and networks to accelerate their impact.
