Join your peers in re defining policies for the current crisis with a gender equality lens!

The event will be moderated by Prof. Yasmine Ergas.

Here's how it will work:

We will share the google doc with the policy issues + questions. Next, we will divide the group into breakout rooms so you can discuss the policy issue assigned with your group.

The "policy makeover" activity: Once in their breakout rooms, each group should review the policy summary and discuss a) if and how it fails to include a gender-equality lens and b) how to re-design that particular aspect of the government's covid-19 response WITH a gender-equality lens. They will be guided through a series of questions (which will be listed below the policy summary on the google doc). Participants are welcomed to document their group's discussion on the google doc as well.

Then, we will return from our breakout rooms to share some common insights. The goal is to give students a chance to consider how governments can mainstream gender issues into their emergency response policies, and the real challenges that one should expect in the process of doing so.

Registration is required to receive the needed materials.
