Join our last conversation of the semester, with Zohra Khan and Katherine Gifford from UN Women on gender responsive budgeting.

Zohra Khan is UN Women's Senior Policy Advisor on Gender Responsive Budgeting and Katherine Gifford is a Policy Specialist at the same institution.

Gender responsive budgeting allows governments to structure tax and spending policies to advance and promote equality between women and men. With good analysis and data, governments can identify gender gaps and use their public financial management systems to target resources to address these. Gender responsive budgeting has a wide variety of goals including increasing access to education, childcare, and health services; raising female labor force participation; and eradicating violence against women. Since 2001, UN Women has been the leading supporter of gender responsive budgeting globally.

This workshop will feature UN Women's extensive experience in this area and demonstrate how good and targeted spending can support progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
