The Institute of Global Politics drives impact on today's global challenges by convening leading scholars and practitioners, developing policy solutions, and preparing the next generation of leaders. IGP was launched in October 2023. In the 18 months since, IGP has hosted a wealth of IGP Carnegie Distinguished Fellows; executed more than 100 events, roundtables, and webinars; advanced a variety of projects and policy work; and has counted more than 250 students as part of the IGP Student Scholar program and IGP Student Circle.  

As we look ahead to our two-year anniversary and the coming academic year, IGP welcomes feedback from the SIPA community. Please complete our survey!

Additionally, we are pleased to welcome applications to the 2025-2026 IGP Student Scholar cohort. Access the application here. The submission deadline is April 18, 2025.

The IGP Student Scholars Program helps prepare Columbia students to understand and find solutions to today's global challenges. Students selected for the program benefit from the mentorship of our Distinguished Fellows and of leading practitioners and scholars, gain hands-on experience in policy-related research and analysis, and engage in dialogue with leaders and experts regarding the world’s toughest problems. Chosen through a highly selective application process each academic year, IGP Student Scholars work closely with IGP affiliated faculty and IGP Distinguished Fellows.
