Welcome back, Global Leaders!
Dear GL Students,
Welcome back to Columbia. I hope your spring semester is off to a strong start and that your second week of classes is going well.
It was wonderful to see many of you in Washington, DC two weeks ago for our meetings with alumni and hosts from the multilaterals, as well as at the Atlantic Council, during the GL Winter Leadership Retreat and leadership coaching sessions with Oren. Thank you for joining us. We hope the experience was both engaging and meaningful, and that you will continue to take advantage of the resources available to you.
Please note that today, Friday, January 30, is the add/drop deadline for full-semester courses. Students who drop a course after January 30 and before March 9 will receive a grade of “W.” I encourage you to review the SIPA academic calendar for a complete list of important dates and deadlines.
If you have not yet reviewed your Stellic record, please do so as soon as possible to ensure that you are meeting your degree requirements and remain on track to graduate in May. Additional information about graduation will be shared in the coming months via the SIPA e-newsletter.
Our first GL Leadership Workshop of the spring semester will take place on Wednesday, February 18, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in Conference Room IAB 1219. The session will feature Karen Leland—author, global expert in company rebranding and CEO and personal branding, and author of Brand Mapping Strategy. The discussion will be moderated by Sarah Holloway.
The first 10 copies of Karen Leland’s book will be available at the session on a first-come, first-served basis.
That’s all for now. I look forward to seeing you on campus and at our upcoming events.
Wishing you a restful weekend and a pleasant week ahead.
Sincerely,
Priscilla
