Mandatory Information Session on
International Travel Policies and Resources
All SIPA students traveling internationally on SIPA/Columbia business MUST comply with SIPA and Columbia International Travel Planning and Policy (CU ITPP), outlined here:
- Attend SIPA pre-departure session (generally, only once)*
- Sign SIPA Assumption of Risk, Waiver, and Release
- Comply with Columbia University International Travel Planning and Policy (CU ITPP):
- Acquire adequate Travel Health Insurance (if you have CU Health/Aetna Insurance, you're OK)
- Comply with ISOS Elevated Risk Approval Process
- Register trip in ISOS' MyTrips
These policies impact students, Officers of Administration, support staff, faculty, and other Columbia employees traveling internationally with students or organizing international student travel. Click here for more information.
* If you have attended a pre-departure session previously (for a prior internship or student group travel or workshop, etc._ you do not have to attend another briefing.WHO SHOULD ATTEND: SIPA students traveling abroad over the summer break for research, study, workshops, internships, student group travel or any other university-sponsored business.
TOPICS COVERED: Complying with CU ITPP, travel support and emergency services through ISOS, pre-travel health assessments through CU Health Services, medical insurance through On-Call, sharing travel plans with families/friends, staying connected.
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND YOU WILL NOT BE IN COMPLIANCE.
