Resource Spotlight: VMOCK RESUME REVIEW
We are pleased to announce the official launch of VMock, a resume review tool that utilizes AI to provide full critique of your resume’s impact, presentation, and competencies. This online tool was developed specifically for SIPA in close collaboration with the Office of Career Services and through the analysis of historical employment data. VMock was piloted during the spring 2020 Professional Development course, and received excellent feedback from both students and instructors. We are thrilled to make it available now to all current SIPA students as a complement to one-on-one advisement.
Once you have uploaded a PDF version of your latest resume, VMock will issue your document a score between 0-100 and place it in either the Red Zone (needs work), Yellow Zone (almost there), or Green Zone (success!). You will also notice that VMock provides detailed feedback and suggestions on items like action-oriented language, overused words, formatting, and how well your resume demonstrates essential competencies for SIPA graduates (i.e., analytical skills, communication, leadership, teamwork, and initiative). Your ultimate goal is to incorporate VMock feedback to reach the Green Zone with a score of 85 or higher!
Current students may log into VMock using their UNI and password at: http://www.vmock.com/sipacolumbia. Note: Each student has a maximum of 10 resume uploads per year. So be sure to follow the feedback suggestions offered on the platform after each upload. After you achieve a score of 85 or higher, feel free to schedule an appointment for personal feedback from an OCS adviser or career coach!
