More on Tiffany below:

Before joining the New York City Council, Tiffany worked as a public defender at the New York County Defender Services (NYCDS) and the Legal Aid Society’s Criminal Defense Practice where she represented over a thousand indigent clients in cases ranging from turnstile jumping to homicide. In 2019, her worked moved her to run for Queens District Attorney, where she gained national distinction by running on the most progressive platform of any District Attorney in the country, and losing by a mere 55 votes.

In September 2020, Cabán announced her candidacy for the 22nd district of the New York City Council. She ran on a democratic socialist and police and prison abolitionist program, and won. Throughout her tenure in City Council, Councilmember Cabán has become one of the most prominent progressive voice and has notably served as a leader in opposition to Mayor Eric Adams' policies on immigrations, policing, and budget cuts to social programs.
