About the event: Right now we're in an age where no organization - be it governments, corporations, or nonprofits - is safe from cyber attack. So how should we respond? Catching attackers earlier matters, and understanding how to react to potential threats is key. Learn how infosec professionals investigate, remediate, and communicate with Chris Hendricks, Principle Consultant and Co-Founder of Counteractive Security.

Join our workshop on Tuesday, February 18 in IAB 402 as Mr. Hendricks discusses Cyber Threat Hunting 101: Threats That Make it Past Controls & How to Counter. He'll provide an introduction to cyber threat hunting, what a career in the field looks like, the skills one needs to be a successful threat hunter, and real-life scenarios of incidents he has faced, with an opportunity for Q&A towards the end.

About Chris: Chris Hendricks is the Principal Consultant and founder of Counteractive Security, where he provides cybersecurity risk-management and compliance advice to clients in a wide variety of industries. He assesses technical risk and responds to security incidents including network intrusions, data breaches, malware, and malicious insiders. He hunts for advanced threats in his clients’ networks and trains teams in all aspects of cybersecurity operations. Chris is also a developer, building tools for IT and security teams.

Prior to Counteractive, Chris was a leader in two infosec consultancies where he built IR teams, security operations centers, and offensive security capabilities. He spent the first 10 years of his career as an Air Force officer and federal agent investigating counterintelligence cases, fraud, and computer crimes in DC, NY, Afghanistan, VA, and TX. As an Air Force reservist, Chris has worked as an analyst, incident responder, infosec threat hunter, and staff advisor.

About COUNTERACTIVE Security: Counteractive Security is a cybersecurity firm that delivers vital risk mitigation expertise to a wide range of organizations. The team relies on their years of service in national security and law enforcement investigations, security operations centers, and consulting to deliver outstanding client engagement.
