The webinar will be held on April 19, 7 p.m. Yerevan time (GMT+4) with the 2020 Aurora Prize Laureates – Fartuun Adan and Ilwad Elman, Heads of The Elman Peace and Human Rights Center in Somalia. We will also host Dae Eriksson, Executive Director of Love Does, Sunitha Krishnan, Founder of Prajwala and 2018 Aurora Humanitarian, and Emily Warne, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Communications at Panzi Hospital & Foundations. The discussion will be moderated by Associate Director of Humanitarian Policy Focus Area at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs – Susannah A. Friedman.

­ƒö╣ "Conversation with the 2020 Aurora Prize Laureates" will be dedicated to 2020 Aurora Prize Laureates and the non-profit organizations that have inspired their humanitarian action. Speakers will share their perspectives on the cycle of giving and why it is rewarding to all involved, as well as highlight the importance of the force for good, justice and equality that we all must foster.
ÔØù Discussion language: English. Simultaneous interpretation to Armenian will be provided.

  • Civil Society Innovation Project Internship
Rights CoLab advances human rights by fostering collaboration among experts across the fields of civil society, technology, business, and finance. Together we build new ways of organizing civic engagement and leveraging markets to improve the impact, resilience, and sustainability of human rights initiatives.

Rights CoLab is looking for an Intern to assist in work on Mapping Civil Society Innovation to Advance Human Rights project. The Intern will be advised and supervised by program officer Eleonora Davidyan, a Russian human rights lawyer who is supporting Civil Society programs at Rights CoLab, as well as by co-founder of Rights CoLab Edwin Rekosh, who has taught Human Rights Law and Development for 20 years at Columbia Law School.

Responsibilities include:

Desk research, analysis, and writing:

  • Identify potential content providers;
  • Identify initiatives for case studies;
  • Draft selected case studies according to an existing template.

Contribution to other program initiatives is encouraged.

Work remotely.

Qualifications: Internship is open to undergraduate or graduate students in Human Rights studies. Interns should be familiar with Human Rights concepts and the work of NGOs.

Time commitment: Internship requires part-time commitment of 120 hours. Internship starts ASAP and lasts 8 weeks or longer.

Compensation: Interns eligible for academic credit will be preferred.
