Ask the fall HRHP Program Assistants!

Julia Henriques-Souza (MIA '21) is a second year J-termer and HRHP concentrator with a specialization in Gender and Public Policy. Before coming to SIPA, Julia attended the University of Brasília, where she got a bachelor's degree in International Relations. While there, she was involved in gender studies projects and political activism networks, which were crucial to consolidate her passion for gender issues. While in Brasília, she also worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, where she was in touch with gender, labor and health topics, and at the Public Defender's Federal Office of Brazil, where she worked with asylum claims and access to justice. She's also an epic Lady Gaga fan.

Morgan Nevins (MIA '21) is a Master of International Affairs and Master of Science in Social Work Dual Degree Candidate at Columbia SIPA and the School of Social Work studying humanitarian policy, conflict resolution and clinical direct practice. Prior to graduate school, Morgan worked for 4 years in project management of HIV prevention, care and treatment services in Mozambique. She also has 3 years of U.S. based experience as an advocate for survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence. Morgan served with the Peace Corps in Mozambique (2011-2013) as a community health promoter. Morgan earned her Bachelor of Arts in 2010 at Colgate University, majoring in history and peace and conflict studies.
