The Latin American Student Association at Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs is proud to host a panel discussion on prevention and responses to violence against women and girls during COVID-19 in Latin America. Moderated by Susana Martinez Restrepo, Adjunct Assistant Professor of International and Public Affairs, we will be joined by distinguished guests from the Peruvian government, the World Bank, and the Women's Justice Initiative, a Guatemalan NGO. We will discuss the role of men and boys in preventing gender-based violence, shifting social norms, a new approach to prevention (SASA model), and Indigenous leadership in the movement to prevent violence against women.
The event will be conducted in Spanish with live interpretation to English for those who would like that option. We hope you will join us! Please reach out with any questions or accessibility needs.
