A Master Class with Paloma Ruiz González, principal executive of transport infrastructure for CAF–development bank of Latin America–in Peru.

Transportation has been traditionally understood, planned and implemented through the lenses of traditional engineering. In urban areas of the developing world these approaches have been neither integrated nor sufficient to overcome the rapid urban sprawl and population booms, resulting in increasing travel costs and time, especially for the poorest. Thus, urban mobility entails today one of the major challenges for development worldwide.
The course will be structured in modules, each comprised of a conceptual/theoretical component followed by a practical exercise. The goal is for development practitioners to learn the basics of mobility in order to address some of the most pressing challenges of urban areas in developing countries.
