SIPA Peer Advisors

About Us

The SIPA Seeples program seeks to provide SIPA students (or ‘seeples’) with a strong sense of community by proving opportunities to meet and network with a group of first-year students across programs and academic disciplines, receive guidance from second-year students and explore SIPA, Columbia University and New York City with their peers.

Participation Perks

While the Peer Advisor role is a voluntary leadership position, Peer Advisors receive access to early registration, knowledge of best practices at SIPA, reimbursement for events and programs they plan for their seeples group and leadership training and development throughout the year. On occasion, Peer Advisors are invited to represent SIPA at other special events.

Events & Programs

Peer Advisors assist with new student orientation and are required to organize two events per semester as well as support OSA events, including secret seeples and public service month.

Registration & Resources

Peer Advisors become familiar with Columbia and SIPA resources. They will be able to better navigate their own SIPA experience and take advantage of the surrounding New York City community.

Leadership Training

Peer Advisors gain experience leading a group of peer and receive a variety of leadership trainings. They will be build relationships with the OSA Deans and other SIPA and Columbia administrators.
