Hello, Friends, comrades, SEEPLEs near and far, the moment we've all been waiting for is here: Election Season! As the current student leaders prepare to pass the torch to the next generation of visionaries, we want YOU to be a part of this exciting journey by joining the dynamic SIPA Student Association (SIPASA).
SIPASA is the powerhouse behind all student organizations at SIPA, representing us to both our esteemed institution and the wider Columbia University. This is your chance to be a part of something extraordinary and influential. SIPASA crafts and champions strategic policies that enhance the SIPA and Columbia experience, and it's an extraordinary platform for budding policy-makers and governance enthusiasts to shape the future of our university.

We comprise 28 members; 5 executive board members, 14 functional chairs ('officers'), and 9 representatives that serve our various programs and special interest groups. Please find the SIPASA Constitution here for your reference to specific descriptions.
If you are interested in learning more about SIPASA, attend a meeting! We meet every week on Monday between 1-2pm in room 324 (Zoom livestream link here if you cannot make it in person). If you are considering running for officer, please read the election guidelines and application requirements at this link. If you are ready to submit your application, APPLY HERE by Sunday, October 29th by 11:59PM.
To be qualified to serve in the 2024 SIPASA board,
You must attend attend ONE of the SIPASA election informational sessions
AND
any TWO Monday 1-2pm SIPASA meetings (in IAB 324 or via Zoom)
before 11/15.
If you absolutely cannot make it to our weekly meetings or info sessions at all, you can WAIVE the requirement by
- reaching out and talking to any of our officers to learn more about how SIPASA works
- watching the recording of our info session and chat with any of the SIPASA officers

Friday, October 20 at 1pm – Election Info session- REGISTER
Monday, October 23 at 1pm -- SIPASA Weekly Meeting (IAB 324 or Zoom)
Thursday, October 26 at 1pm – Election Info session II- REGISTER
Sunday, October 29 at 11:59pm – Candidacy Applications Close
Monday, October 30 at 1pm -- SIPASA Weekly Meeting (IAB 324 or Zoom)
Tuesday, October 31 – Candidacy statements released to the student body
Wednesday, November 1 through Wednesday, November 15 – Campaign Weeks
Monday, November 13 at 1pm -- SIPASA Weekly Meeting (IAB 324 or Zoom)
Thursday, November 16 – DEBATE NIGHT
Friday, November 17 – Election Day! Voting is open on CampusGroups for 24 hours
Tuesday, November 21 – Election results announced!
