The SIPA Pan-African Network invites you to a lecture and Q & A with Prof. Sean Jacobs (New School) as part of our inaugural Africa Focus Lecture Series.

Topic:
The talk revisits fifteen years of founding and editing Africa Is a Country, tracing the politics, tensions, and possibilities of telling African stories differently—challenging stereotypes, gatekeepers, and shifting global narratives in a changing online ecosystem.

Speaker:

Sean Jacobs is Professor and Director of the Graduate Program in International Affairs at The New School. He founded and edited AfricaIs Country. He is originally from Cape Town, South Africa.
