The Asia Pacific Affairs Council (APAC) is a forum for all Columbia University students interested in East and Southeast Asian affairs. APAC serves the entire university community by organizing events, distributing information, and coordinating East Asia-related activities while building a community for students interested in East Asia. APAC is run by students and serves as the student-outreach arm of Columbia University's Weatherhead East Asian Institute.

SIPA Capstone Workshops apply the practical skills and analytical knowledge learned at SIPA to a real-world issue. Students from the Masters of International Affairs and Masters of Public Administration degree programs are organized into small consulting teams (between 4 to 8 students per team) and assigned a substantive, policy-oriented project with an external client. Clients include public agencies (from the local to national level), international NGOs and multinational organizations, and major firms in the private sector—recent examples include Barclays, Bloomberg New Energy Finance, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Human Rights Watch, Mercy Corps, New York City Mayor's Office, United Nations Peacebuilding Support Office, and the World Bank Group. Student teams, working under the supervision of a faculty expert, answer a carefully defined problem posed by the client. Each team produces an actionable report and an oral briefing of their findings at the close of the workshop that is designed to translate into real change on the ground.

The Columbia SIPA Veterans Association (CSVA) is a student body organization at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University. The CSVA provides a platform for veterans of US and international militaries to build relationships with each other and the larger student body at SIPA. With a primary focus on connecting people, CSVA will help develop civilian-military relations in the greater NYC area while also serving as a platform to assist veterans as they enter, attend, and then graduate from SIPA.

The Gender Policy Working Group (GPWG) is a student body organization working in close relation with the Gender and Public Policy Specialization (GPPS) at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University. The GPWG is devoted to the awareness, sensitivity, and understanding of global issues related to gender diversity and equality. The group works to build knowledge around the social, political, and economic structures that affect people of all gender identities and sexual orientations in intersecting ways. GPWG actively seeks the equal participation of all gender and sexual identities in its discussions.
