Jessamyn Waldman Rodriguez, MPA ’04, is the Managing Director of Daily Provisions, a chain of cafes from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group. In her role, Jessamyn ensures operational excellence, genuine community connections, and a culture of hospitality for all of Daily Provisions’ employees, guests, and suppliers. She oversees strategy and location growth, ensuring that good jobs are created while ensuring a safe and equitable workplace. Before joining Union Square Hospitality Group, Jessamyn was Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the award-winning Hot Bread Kitchen, a social enterprise which serves as an incubator for start-up food businesses. Hot Bread Kitchen also helps women achieve economic mobility by preparing them for work in the culinary sector. Under Jessamyn’s leadership, Hot Bread Kitchen trained more than 250 women from 42 countries, and fostered 172 growing food businesses, thereby creating a nationally recognized brand whose products are sold across the country.

Careers in Social Impact: Jobs in the Corporate Social Sector, A Conversation with Samira Khan, Social Impact at Salesforce.org

Curious about a career in tech for good? If you’re passionate about empathy-driven innovation, social impact and solving global challenges but also want to work in the tech space, this career might be just right for you. Samira Khan works at the intersection of tech and social innovation/impact. She’s also worked at different corporations, in government, and in the social sector for over 13 years. Her career is all about finding innovative solutions to solving some of society’s greatest challenges. She’s especially interested in corporate venturing, and business model innovations for good. Samira’s work spans the Americas, the Middle East and Asia. She’s a former strategy/management consultant; and while at A.T. Kearney in Southeast Asia, played a leading role in facilitating and building its social impact organization. She’s also passionate about topics related to gender and youth empowerment toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
