Dear EPD-ers,

Happy much-deserved long weekend! With everything going on around us, we hope that you are all taking care of yourself and each other, and are able to unwind and recuperate during the weekend. Some important events took place last week including SIPA students staging a planned walkout in support of their doxxed peers. In addition, the EPD Office sent a message of support to all EPD students, especially our doxxed students and other students affected by events in the Middle East and repercussions here at Columbia and SIPA.

In other news, more than 140 students applied for the EPD Workshop projects during the last week and the EPD Office will announce the workshop team assignments by Friday, November 10. So second-year EPDers will have a busy few weeks ahead, including working on initial team-building activities, setting up introductory conversations with clients, conducting initial background research, and drafting a work plan.

Before we dive into what's included in this week’s newsletter, we want to thank our EPD faculty and all the students who joined the EPD Fall Social. It was a lovely Halloween themed evening at Amity Hall with lots of drinks, good food and socializing that went on late into the evening. We plan to organize more socials throughout the year to enable our community to meet and engage with each other.

This week’s newsletter includes:

  • EPD Events
  • SIPA events
  • Career Advancement Center Events
  • Events Happening at Columbia
  • Recommendation of the Week - Dritan Abazović, the Prime Minister of Montenegro, speaks with Jonas Oliver Piduhn MIA ’24
