HRHP Course Offerings and Registration

Dear HRHPers,

We hope this summer has treated you well, and that you are starting to feel excited about joining us in a few weeks! This email contains all of the ins and outs of HRHP's course updates, registration information, and how you can sign up to make an appointment with Michelle, Professor Barkan, or Professor Friedman.

Please be sure to join us on Wednesday for the HRHP Course Info Session, where we will review all the following information and be fielding any questions or concerns. Until then, be well!

Very best,
Team HRHP

HRHP Website and Navigating Your Course Search

  • As we mentioned in a previous newsletter, the concentration has gone digital! Please refer to our website to guide your course search and general course planning. We will use this platform to share all the HRHP resources available to you, and to tailor relevant information and resources available campus-wide.
  • The SIPA Bulletin remains the most up-to-date resource on course scheduling, particularly on hybrid/online course format information.

Important Dates!

August 24 - August 31
Continuing students - Registration
August 31 - September 4 New Student Orientation
September 2 - September 3 New Students - Registration
September 7  Labor Day - University Holiday
September 8 First day of classes!

Degree Audit and Concentration Requirements

  • The HRHP Concentration degree audit form has moved online! Please take a look at Stellic, the new online system for degree tracking (and it will track your SIPA Core and Specialization as well!). We'll still provide a PDF version of the degree audit for your own informal planning, but please use Stellic to formally track your degree audits.
  • HRHP is working to update the courses requirements for the concentration, so our degree audit looks a little different this semester. For second years, don't panic! You will be grandfathered in and the courses that you've taken will be counted as you anticipated. For incoming students, please note that the new degree audit will be your reference guide moving forward!
  • If you find a course that you'd like to petition to have counted toward HRHP Concentration requirements, please submit the course to our HRHP Course Substitution Form prior to enrolling in the course. Courses submitted for review after completion are not guaranteed to be approved!

New Course!

  • International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights in Wars with Professor Horst Fischer (3 credits)

Still have questions? That's totally OK! Click below to sign up for an advising appointment, and please be sure to join us for the registration info session we are hosting on Wednesday (see event invite below).

Life is wild, but HRHP is here for you!
