Rhonda Dailey, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Research in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences (DFMPHS) in the School of Medicine and Scientific Director to the Office of Community Engaged Research (OCEnR), within the Office of the Vice President of Research, at Wayne State University. Formally trained in medicine, Dr. Dailey has over 20 years of experience in behavioral and health-disparities research and expertise in the recruitment and retention of minority populations in clinical settings and the engagement of medical professionals and community stakeholders in research. Dr. Dailey will provide an overview of the impact of social determinants of health (economic, neighborhood environment, and healthcare) on perinatal health disparities and will discuss her publication of a validity and reliability analysis of the Quality of Prenatal Care Questionnaire (QPCQ), a 46-item instrument used to measure prenatal care quality perceptions in a cohort of Black women enrolled in the Biosocial Impact on Black Births (BIBB) study.

Nigeria-based gender experts (consultants) will provide technical assistance and capacity-building support on select tasks to USAID/Nigeria and Implementing Partners (IPs). This consultancy supports services delivered to USAID/Nigeria under the Gender Integration Technical Assistance (GITA) II Task Order.

Gender experts will help improve gender integration across sectors including, education, economic growth, peace and democratic governance, and health. The consultant’s contributions will span across the USAID Program Cycle, with a particular focus on activity design and implementation.

Banyan Global anticipates engaging gender experts between January 2023 – September 2023, with consulting assignments ranging from week-long full-time tasks to long-term part-time tasks.

The Gender and Youth Activity (GAYA) is an Associate Award (AA) under the Implementer Led Design, Evidence, Analysis, and Learning (IDEAL) program. This AA is an $8.8 million dollar program over 5 years designed to provide strategic capacity strengthening and learning in gender and youth to Implementing Partners (IPs) of USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) programs and other food security stakeholders. The GAYA award is currently in its second year of implementation. 

The GAYA seeks a Curriculum Design and Human Centered Design (HCD) Consultant to play a key role in the Gender, Youth, Food Security & Resilience Fellowship pilot.
