Refugee Return: Understanding the Dynamics of Refugee Repatriation and Alternative Solutions
Despite human rights prohibitions against returning refugees to a country where their life or liberty is in danger, governments across the world are finding ever more creative ways to send asylum seekers back. But what actually happens when refugees return? This panel organized by the Institute for the Study of Human Rights will examine new research on the dynamics of refugee repatriation, and discuss how policymakers can use these findings to develop alternative solutions to forced migration situations.

Please join us for the Professional Development Workshop on Monitoring and Evaluation for human rights and humanitarian practictioners, organized by the HRHP Concentration, HAWT, HRWG, and the Office of Career Services.
The instructor, Simon Fuchs, is the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Advisor for the International Rescue Committee (IRC) Economic Recovery and Development (ERD) technical unit. He leads IRC’s initiatives to develop agency-wide indicators for economic wellbeing outcomes, M&E planning tools and methodologies, data collection and analysis, indicator reporting and data use/interpretation for cash assistance, food security and livelihoods programs in the Middle East, West Africa, and East Africa regions.
