Join GPWG for an hour-long session for members to discuss current events about gender, human rights, and sexual harassment. Suggested topics will include the protests in Iran, lack of rights in Afghanistan, abortion in the United States, and LGBTQI+ inclusion. A suggestion form will also be provided, along with food.
This is an open discussion setting, guided by GPWG, to create a safe environment to freely explore these issues and their impacts. ALL ARE WELCOME. No previous knowledge of the topic is needed. We are all here to learn!

Conversation with Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations U Kyaw Moe Tun
Join us in conversation with his excellency, U Kyaw Moe Tun. U Kyaw Moe Tun currently serves as the Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations. In 2021, while U Kyaw Moe Tun was serving as ambassador, the Myanmar military overthrew the elected civilian government in a coup d’état. U Kyaw Moe Tun remained loyal to the civilian government and resistance and continues to manage foreign and diplomatic affairs on behalf of Myanmar. Hear his reflections and insights on his role, the coup d’etat, and the future of the country.
Debating the Aid System: Launch of the 2023 Development Co-operation Report Date: Tuesday, February 14 Time: 4:30 - 6pm CET
The Development Co-operation Report 2023 looks at the need for a fundamental rethinking of the international aid system, and gathers fresh reflections on systemic barriers to inclusive development from leaders in the Global South, activists, development experts, and others. It highlights the urgency to scale up and spend official development assistance to combat crises and advance towards development goals.
Please join us for this launch event that will bring together high-level government representatives, leaders of multilateral institutions, development agencies, civil society, experts and authors to take stock of debates about the aid system and discuss how the OECD can help the international community to boost the relevance and impact of development co-operation. Apply below to join the Journal of International Affairs, the storied, 75-year-old student-run international affairs publication produced by Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. The Journal produces print issues featuring peer-reviewed essays, analytical arguments, and feature interviews, as well as a burgeoning suite of digital products in text and audio through the "Abroadcast."
The Journal is currently looking to fill editorial positions for the digital team, as well as a Webmaster for the right candidate. Applications for open positions are considered on a rolling basis.

IPPF is a global service provider and a leading advocate of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for all. We are a worldwide movement of national organisations working with and for communities and individuals. IPPF seeks an Individual Giving Officer who will be primarily responsible for growing and retaining a portfolio of approximately 100+ current/prospective mid-level and major donors ($1,000+). The IG Officer is a new role and is part of a growing Individual Giving programme situated within a global fundraising team which secures significant resources to support the IPPF mission. This position will help IPPF achieve its Individual Giving fundraising targets, as well as manage its own revenue goal, which will increase in the coming years.

Allie Rubeck is a first-year MIA student from Massachusetts and Spain concentrating on Human Rights & Humanitarian Policy and specializing in Gender and Public Policy. She is also the Vice President of the Gender Policy Working Group at SIPA. Prior to SIPA, Allie worked in New York City in various finance roles, from debt negotiation to executive search. At Columbia, her studies focus on the intersection between human rights, gender, and political empowerment in developing regions such as Latin America and Asia. After graduation, Allie hopes to work abroad for international advocacy and humanitarian organizations focused on these gender development issues.
