Subject: Registration for EPD courses and Methods for Sustainable Development Practice Application Reminder

Dear EPD students,

Happy Monday to everyone! Since registration for fall courses has begun, we’re sending you a few reminders.

First, registration for U6178 Politics of Sustainable Development, a core EPD course, is restricted to EPD students, which means that in order to register for this course, you must have officially declared EPD as your concentration. This would be reflected in your SSOL profile and Stellic.

Section 1: Thursday, 9:00-10:50 am
Call #: 16338
Section 2: Thursday, 11:00-12:50 pm
Call #: 16340

If you haven't declared EPD as your concentration yet, first submit the concentration declaration form through this link. Once your concentration form is approved (note it may take a couple of days for the approval to go through), you will then be able to register through SSOL.

Second, registration for PUAF U8349 Intersections of Race and Power in Development, an EPD elective, will be managed through a waitlist. Students interested in taking this course should add themselves to the waitlist as soon as they can register. Priority in registration will be given to EPD, MDP, IO/UN and GPP students.

Third, registration for U6827 Methods for Sustainable Development Practice, a required course for all second-year EPD students, including J-termers, and a prerequisite for participating in the Capstone Workshop in Sustainable Development Practice (EPD Workshop), is currently closed. This is because the Methods course is set up as an application course so that we can gather information on your background and interests.

To access and complete your application, follow this link
https://fs23.formsite.com/SIPA/MethodsDevPractice_App/index.html. At the end of the application, you will be asked to upload a one-page resume. Applications are due on Wednesday, September 1st at noon.

All EPD concentrators can assume they will be accepted in the Methods course. Students should attend any section of the first class on Wednesday, September 15 or Thursday, September 16. (There will be no class on Thursday, September 9.)  During the first class, we will collect information about your preferred class and lab sections. We will assign and confirm sections after the first class, and THEN you can register for the course through SSOL

Finally, an earlier issue with registration for U6114 Working with the Private Sector for Development Outcomes has been resolved. Students interested in taking this course should now be able to register through SSOL.
