Hello DAQA Specializers,
We know the holidays are around the corner. The DAQA squad would sincerely wish you a fantastic Thanksgiving with family or friends. Please kindly find the following announcements for this week and as always you can reach out anytime should you have questions.
As we all experience SIPA differently this semester than ever before, we’d like to see “from your eyes” where you’ve been learning this semester! Send us a selfie or picture from your “personal classroom” setup, or the view from your window, or another cool part of your daily routine this semester! It could be whatever you consider a reflection of your learning environment - you choose! At the end of the month, we’ll create a collage of all the submissions by the DAQA squad. Be creative and have fun!
By November 29, send your snap to yz2878@columbia.edu with the subject “DAQA Photo Contest – Your Name”.
Look forward to seeing your photos!

Effective Interviewing Skills for International Students
What makes for a successful interview? And how can you jump the many hurdles of the interview process? Your success at interviewing will depend largely on one key factor: what you enable your interviewer to remember about you.
This interactive workshop, geared especially to international students preparing to interview for internship and job opportunities, will cover the strategies and presentational tactics of successful interviewing. Learn what is essential to know about your job target; what messages you must convey about yourself; the questions you should anticipate from your interviewer; and how to present yourself most memorably.
Brandon, SIPA MIA ’80, coaches high school, college, and career-bound graduate students in writing and interviewing skills. His professional background includes more than 20 years in sales and client relations in the broadcast television industry.
Are you in your second year at SIPA and confused about the internship paperwork requirements? Maybe you have a CP grade, and not sure what it means? Come join our special workshop where we will answer all of your frequently asked questions!
This session will be led by Yerkebulan Kadirov, Internship Program Assistant.
*This workshop is also open to forward-thinking first-year students that like to plan ahead!*
