Dr. Xubei Luo is a Senior Economist at the World Bank Group. For over 15 years, her work in development economics spans operation, research, evaluation, and supporting senior management. She has conducted country work in East Asia, Europe and Central Asia, and Africa Regions. She led the enterprise aspect of the World Development Report 2014, Risk and Opportunity, focusing on firm dynamics, labor market and equity issues, and the distributional impact of public policies. In the past three years, she managed the partnership and joint research in e-commerce between the World Bank and the Alibaba Group, China, to distill lessons of how China has harnessed digital technology to foster employment, particularly women and the youth, and support growth in an inclusive manner. This event will be moderated by Professor Daniel Naujoks, Interim Director of International Organization and UN Studies Specialization at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.
