We hope this message finds you and yours in good health and connected to that which you value most. As the world, namely white people, awakens to centuries of systemic injustices, we in the HRHP team are thinking of you all and the important contributions we know you are bringing with you wherever you are and with whatever you are doing. Now more than ever, we hope to serve as a resource and community as you advocate for the rights and diginity of those most systemically harmed to be structurally and actually valued.
Sending extra strength and solidarity to each of you as these uncertain times remain. And do reach out if there's anything we can do to support you.
Very best,
Team HRHP
HRHP Website Launch
The concentration is happy to announce our new website for HRHPers! The site is meant to provide additional information about courses, capstones, faculty, professional development, events, and other programming. We will be expanding and sharing additional information in the coming months - please stay tuned!
We are still in the midst of a global pandemic. The pain felt by our community of the murders to George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and countless others is still very present. Unacceptable visa restrictions affect our HRHP/SIPA community directly. Many of you are making radical decisions about employment, housing, school, and family care, and we know returning to New York/School may not be possible for some while others are being asked to leave New York. Of course, all of this impacts and creates concern for tuition costs for the fall semester ahead.
As we like to say: life happens, all the time. And right now, there's a lot of extra life that is impacting each of us in different ways.
Come chat with HRHP Concentration Director, Professor Barkan, on whatever topic of your choice. We would love to hear from you, and would like to field all of your concerns.
