Summer internship with World Bank's Development Impact Evaluation Unit (DIME) (3/7 deadline)
The objective of the World Bank's Development Impact Evaluation group (DIME) is to increase the use of data analytics and impact evaluation research in the design and implementation of public policy, to increase the effectiveness of development investments, strengthen country institutions for evidence-based policy making, and generate knowledge in strategic development areas.
The summer internship program combines project-specific experience with training opportunities on survey and data-related topics. Eligible students must be enrolled in a degree program at the time of the internship. Master's and undergraduate students must also receive an appropriate scholarship or academic credit to be eligible for participation. Applications for the Summer 2022 Internship Program are open until 11:59 AM Eastern Time, March 7 2022. Candidates must submit their CV and a short Statement of Purpose. Managing Editor at VoxDev (3/14 deadline)
VoxDev was launched in 2017 as a platform to take evidence into policy, with the aim of stimulating interaction between academic economists and policy practitioners on emerging development policy challenges.
The postholder will make extensive use of their skills as an economist to help translate complex, technical material from frontier economic research into short- and long-format pieces for general and policy audiences. They will commission columns, podcasts and some video content, translating academic research into easily understandable policy advice and ideas for growth. The postholder will be a member of the VoxDev editorial board, working closely with the Editor-in-Chief, Professor Tavneet Suri (MIT) and the other board members, Professor Robin Burgess (LSE) and Professor Chris Woodruff (University of Oxford). For more information about this position, click here.
This post would suit a strong MSc/MA student who is intending to move on to a top PhD programme in economics and is looking for some broad development economics experience prior to this.
