Internships and Opportunities

Columbia University, SIPA. Research Assistant (paid)
Fall 2020 - Spring 2021
Application Due Date: September 18, 2020
Professor Daniel Naujoks is looking for a research assistant for Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 to support the analysis of United Nations Development Plans. The research assistant will support Professor Naujoks to use the qualitative research software NVivo to apply automatic and manual codes; create a dataset that is supplemented by statistical data available from other sources and support the analysis. If interested, see more information here and apply by September 18.
French tutoring (paid): CCSI is looking for a native French-speaking student to run informal remote French conversation classes with a CCSI staff member. The position will be paid, and due to the university's administrative constraints, the student must be in the United States. In addition to generally practicing French language conversation, we hope to focus on discussing work-related issues, which relate to agricultural investment in the global south, human rights, sustainable development and transparency. No specific background is needed in those fields but any familiarity would be an asset. The likely commitment would be 1 hour per week, beginning ASAP.  Please email Sam Szoke-Burke (s.burke@columbia.edu) if interested, noting any relevant interests/background
